Jacqueline Perkins arrived in Minsk in August 2019 to take up her appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus. Prior to this she was Deputy Ambassador at the British Embassy in Kuwait.

Jacqueline joined the FCO in 1989. She has had overseas postings to Abu Dhabi, Cairo and Bahrain, as well as spending a year in Egypt on Arabic language training. At the FCO in London she has worked on Germany, the EU and the Middle East.

Jacqueline studied Modern Languages (German and Russian) at the University of Cambridge and has an MA in International Relations from the University of Notre Dame in the USA. She comes from the county of Cornwall in the far south west of England, where she enjoys kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and walking with her two dogs. She is married and has a son and a daughter, both of whom are at university in the UK.
