New Training Workshop – 3rd June 2026

We are pleased to announce the date of our next training workshop on the Assessment and Treatment of Adult-Perpetrated Deliberate Firesetting. It will take place online via MS Teams on 3 June 2026, 9.30am-5.00pm.

The workshop will cover the characteristics that are common amongst adults who set fires and the differences and similarities with individuals that commit other crimes. Theoretical explanations of deliberate firesetting will be discussed, including the most recent comprehensive theory: the Multi-Trajectory Theory of Adult Firesetting (M-TTAF; Gannon et al., 2012, 2022). In addition, best practice approaches to the assessment of treatment needs, risk assessment, and treatment with this population will be explored. The workshop will provide attendees with the practical knowledge to be able to successfully deliver the Firesetting Intervention Programme for Prisoners (FIPP) or the Firesetting Intervention for Mentally Disordered Offenders (FIP-MO) within their own service.

Places will cost £250 per delegate, which includes a copy of the FIPP or FIP-MO manual.

Online bookings will require immediate payment via debit/credit card and can be placed here.

Alternatively, if you need to arrange payment via an invoice, please get in touch with N.W.Gentry@kent.ac.uk
