Juvenile and Adult Firesetting Event in Massachusetts

Professor Theresa Gannon and Dr Nichola Tyler are presenting at an event in Massachusetts, USA in January 2019. The event is co-sponsored by Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, FirePsych Inc, and William James College and will feature a series of workshops by leading experts in the field of deliberate firesetting.

Theresa and Nichola’s workshop will take place on Wednesday January 9, 2019 and will be entitled “Adult Firesetting: Emerging Theory and Treatment Model”. This training will cover theoretical explanations of firesetting, primary treatment needs and risk assessment guidelines, and treatment of firesetting in specialized populations. Attendees will be provided with training on the delivery of a new evidence based, specialized intervention for adult firesetting among males and females with serious mental illness – the Firesetting Intervention Programme for Mentally Disordered Offenders (FIP-MO). Information on the Firesetting Intervention Programme for incarcerated Prisoners will also be provided (FIPP).

The other workshops are entitled “Juvenile Firesetting: Best Practice Standards for Assessment and Intervention Planning” and “Assessment of Adult Firesetting: Emerging Principles and Practice”.

Each workshop costs $80 and 6 CE credits can be earned.
