Dr Farah Shakir

A highly experienced academic and researcher with over 15 years of academic experience in Iraq and the UK focusing on federal theory and Iraq’s federal system. Dr Shakir’s PhD thesis on federalism in Iraq was published in English in 2017 and is in process of translation into Arabic. Her experience also encompasses a projects with Universities and research centres in Canada, Germany, Italy and Iraq. Dr Shakir’s interests stretch beyond academia and she has been involved in a project with the IOM in Iraq developing a standard operation procedures for gender based violence and human trafficking. Her in-depth knowledge of the Middle East enabled her to work as an advisor for many NGOs and charities in both Iraq and the UK”.
