Areas of expertise
An overview of research interests & activities:
- urban climate: We have a network of about 80 weather stations to measure the impact of cities on weather (urban heat island effects). Data are used for research on heat stress, to study the impact of green/blue measures in cities and to evaluate of urban climate models.
- climate modelling: Together with the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium we have undertaken regional climate projections over different parts of the world. We focus on heat extremes and extreme precipitation.
