Degree Programmes

The Department offers a diverse portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes designed to spark creative thinking, boost students’ career prospects, and cultivate the knowledge they will need to be the right kinds of leaders for the economy and society.

Our BSc Management provides a solid foundation for students to understand management theory and practice, enabling them to take the lead in business around the globe. With our BSc Business and Management, students gain the analytical, technical and interpersonal skills required to understand, analyse and address the challenges faced by today’s companies. Both programmes are accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), allowing students to obtain the Level 5 Professional Certificate in Management and Leadership along with their degree. The Department also offers BSc Chartered Manager that supports individuals wanting to progress their career within SME and global organisations.

Postgraduate students in the Department of Leadership and Management benefit from a rich, research-informed learning environment that fosters innovative learning opportunities in business and management studies. Our high-quality programmes are accredited by professional bodies and associations, including the CIPD and CMI. They are taught by our outstanding academic staff, who are actively engaged in research and are published experts in their fields. Our portfolio of postgraduate taught programmes include MSc Human Resource Management, MSc Management, MSc Healthcare Management, and the new, highly innovative MSc Project Management. The Department is also home to the Kent MBA, an AMBA-accredited programme that develops innovative mindsets and transform students into a responsible business leader.

Our talented PhD students are an integral part of our research community. We have a proven track record of supporting doctoral students and providing critical resources to ensure the success of their research endeavours. An experienced supervising team (usually two academic staff members) is readily accessible to advise students on the nature of their research, the degree of work required, and the necessary literature and sources that should be consulted. Our postgraduate researchers can also benefit from numerous opportunities to engage with Kent Business School’s wide array of international partnerships, including in China, USA, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Ghana, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden and Italy.
