Sophie Kemsley is undertaking a one-day-a-week secondment at iCSS, working as a Grant Development Officer under the supervision of Professor Shujun Li. She joins the University of Kent from Kent County Council (KCC)’s Public Health Team, where she works as a Senior Project Officer in the award-winning Kent & Medway Suicide Prevention Programme. Sophie’s secondment focuses on identifying funding opportunities with mutual benefits for the University of Kent and KCC, in the broader area of healthcare especially mental health and digital health. Sophie’s career background is in the Local Authority and VCSE sectors having studied a degree in Criminology at Lancaster University (2008). She is keen to learn more about grant funding opportunities whilst seconded to the University with a view to working together on future bids.
