Dr Jinbao Zhang
About
Dr Zhang is a Research Fellow at the Care and Outcomes Research Centre (COReC, formerly PSSRU). He completed his PhD at the University of Hong Kong, where his research examined how access to consumer-directed care can be improved through the study of cross-national policy designs, care recipients’ preferences, and insights from behavioural economics.
Research interests
Dr Zhang joined COReC to explore ways to improve access to social care services, including the use of a digital front door, as part of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Kent, Surrey and Sussex (ARC KSS). He has also worked on projects within the NIHR Quality, Safety and Outcomes of Health and Social Care Policy Research Unit (QSO PRU), including an evaluation of the Better Care Fund and research examining how existing information and new quality indicators could better support informed choices about home care. He has also worked on an NIHR Policy Research Unit in Adult Social Care (ASCRU) project that developed a normative approach for the Adult Social Care relative needs formulae, which informs the allocation of central government funding across local authorities.
