The team is focused on an investigation of advanced technologies for future mobile communications. The research topics are relevant to fifth generation (5G) mobile communications, covering massive MIMO, millimetre wave beamforming, cellular device to device communications, small cell technologies, wireless multiple access technologies, distributed antenna systems, visible light communications.

The team has been collaborating with domestic and international partners, such as Hutchison Three UK, EE, Qualcomm, Ericsson, Orange, NTT DoCoMo, and so on.
