John W. Selsky is an independent researcher and adviser in strategic management, organization design and development, and corporate social responsibility. He is affiliated with the Institute for Washington’s Future, a Seattle-based public policy center concerned with economic, environmental and social justice. He has held academic positions in Australia, New Zealand, United States and Turkey. He has published extensively in leading management journals in Europe and the U.S., and co-authored Mastering Turbulence with Joseph McCann (Jossey-Bass, 2012). John has a particular interest in how systems – from people to organizations to industries, policy sectors and communities – adapt in turbulent environments through collaborative endeavors like cross-sector partnerships, and by mobilizing the capabilities of agility and resilience. Other interests include nonprofit sector management and the management of common-pool resources such as fresh water and forests. He holds a M.S. and Ph.D. in Social Systems Sciences from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
