Collaborative Solutions for Social Problems Lab

Advancing process-focused solutions

We develop evidence-based collaborative solutions to urgent social and environmental problems — working with organisations across sectors to translate research into real-world impact

The Collaborative Solutions for Social Problems Lab (ColS4SPLab) focuses on the development of advanced solutions to social and environmental problems such as social inclusion, biodiversity, suicide prevention in industries such as construction, banking, food manufacturing and education. One of our core strengths in addressing social problems is incorporating diverse stakeholder perspectives in the development of collaborative solutions, alongside our research interests in prevention and intervention strategies, critical incidents, underpinned by a process focus leading to outcome optimisation.

We are part of the Kent Business School and the University of Kent. We collaborate with public and private organisations when our aims are aligned and the projects contribute to the social good. We collaborate with organisations around the world to translate our work into impactful solutions by undertaking research, organising events, facilitating discussions and developing evidence-based reports.

The Advances in Qualitative Research (AQR) Seminar Series is an initiative of the Collaborative Solutions for Social Problems Lab at Kent Business School, led by Dr M. May Seitanidi, and coordinated by Maxim Potepkin, bringing together early-, mid-, and senior-career researchers to deepen understanding of qualitative methodology in theory and practice. The series provides opportunities to present either their original qualitative research or to discuss in depth papers in top journal papers and hence  facilitate collectively improvement of the praxis of qualitative research i.e. how to develop theory based on qualitative data and apply rigorous qualitative research methods.

To subscribe to the Lab news and receive updates on upcoming AQR seminars, please send a subscription request to aqr-phd-request@lists.kent.ac.uk . For further information, please visit the AQR Seminar Series page or contact the AQR Coordinator, Maxim Potepkin, directly at mp833@kent.ac.uk.
