ASCOT is used in analysis and research by academic researchers, policy analysts and others.
There has also been interest in applying ASCOT in adult social care practice:
- For individual care planning and/or assessment
- To inform ervice improvement and planning
- To demonstrate the value and impact of support and services.
Sometimes, ASCOT measures are applied in their standardized form. This allows measurement of quality of life to demonstrate the impact of care and to evaluate services.
We have also worked with care providers to use ASCOT flexibly, especially in care planning and assessment. The ASCOT Framework of QoL attributes is a powerful tool to understand what matters most to people through conversation.
