We completed Stage 1 of the CogSoCoAGE study, with over 350 participants taking part – thank-you, all, for your help! We are now asking the same participants to take part in stage 2! This stage normally involves us inviting participants back into the lab two years after first taking part, to allow us to measure how your abilities may have developed over the past two years. However, due to the current situation with COVID-19 and following the government advice we are conducting our study completely online.
We really hope you will be able to join us in taking part. As a thank-you for your time, you will be rewarded with £40. This will be directly transferred to your bank account.
Are you eligible to take part in our research?
If you took part in CogSoCoAGE Time 1 study, then you are eligible to take part in stage 2.
What will happen in the study?
The whole study is conducted online. First you will have a 15-minute video call with the experimenter, where you will complete an interactive online task with her. Then she will let you know about the next steps of the study, which includes filling out online questionnaires about yourself at home, how you’re feeling, companionship, your physical activity in the last week and information about your social life. You will also complete a series of online computerised tasks to assess social skills and other general cognitive skills, such as planning.
Full information and instructions on how to complete these tasks will be provided by the experimenter during the video call.
How long will it take and is there any payment?
The tasks will approximately take up to 3-3.5 hours to complete. You can complete the testing session over a week and in your own time.
As a thank-you for your time, you will be rewarded with £40, which will be directly transferred to your bank account.
Confidentiality of your data
Your personal information will be stored securely and kept strictly confidential. Experimental results from our studies will be stored anonymously and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Data Protection Act 2018. You will be free to withdraw from the research at any time.
