Sharing Space for Nature

Enhancing the role of conservation areas in tackling current environmental crises

E3 Sharing Space for Nature is a five-year research initiative, funded by Research England.

Sharing Space for Nature responds to the new Convention on Biological Diversity targets, which commit every country to nearly double the area of land and sea managed for nature to 30% by 2030. This requires a radical shift in how we imagine, design and implement successful and inclusive conservation solutions in multifunctional landscapes and seascapes.

Throughout this site, you’ll find more information about our work, recent news and publications, and information on how to get in touch with the team and get involved.

Opportunities

We have recently launched the E3 Sharing Space for Nature Studentship, for a project titled ‘Understanding and optimising local nature recovery networks in England’. This project will use systematic conservation planning to focus on the nine counties in South East England to explore several related questions. Find out more about the studentship and how to apply on the project page.
