‘Beyond the Spectacle’ is an Arts and Humanities Research Council-funded research project examining the long history of Native North American presence in the UK. Lead by researchers at the University of Kent, University of East Anglia, and University of British Columbia, the project is particularly keen on the political, economic, and cultural legacies of Indigenous visits to the heart of Empire. They are working with the pole project to produce educational materials and lead public events. The team’s contribution to the pole project has also been partly funding by the Canada-UK Foundation.
