Hi! I’m Joshua Tucker and I’m a 2nd year PhD student under the supervision of Dr Jorge Quintanilla and Prof Paul Strange. I studied for an integrated master’s in Physics at Kent between 2019-2023 where I graduated with a first-class honours degree and top of the year. I decided to stay on to do my PhD and I’ve been here ever since.
My primary research at the moment focuses on the use of quantum technologies in games of rendezvous. Specifically, I look into non-signalling agent co-ordination in the task of rendezvous where agents are placed into a search space randomly and must find one another without a classical form of communication. I study this topic extensively and use Quantum Computers to simulate the use of quantum resources to gain advantage over classical strategies.
I have demonstrated in Labratory Practicals for both first and third year undergraduates.
