As part of the MEPS programme, we produce policy briefs to inform decision makers about the outcomes of MEPS research and provide guidance for monitoring and evaluating social forestry programmes. The main target audience for these briefs are government and non-governmental stakeholders in Kalimantan, but the information is broadly relevant for all people interested in the social forestry process in Indonesia.
Our first two policy briefs issued in August 2017 examined the effectiveness of hutan desa schemes in avoiding deforestation and alleviating rural poverty in West Kalimantan:
- Kinerja Perhutanan Sosial di Kabupaten Ketapang, Kalimantan Barat
- Kinerja Perhutanan Sosial di Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu, Kalimantan Barat
And the English translations:
- Social Forestry Performances in Ketapang District, West Kalimantan
- Social Forestry Performances in Kapuas Hulu District, West Kalimantan
In March 2018 we issued a third policy brief outlining useful approaches for documenting and monitoring poverty in social forestry areas:
Memonitor kemiskinan di wilayah perhutanan sosial – MEPS_PolBrief_III-2018_IND
Monitoring poverty in social forestry areas – MEPS_PolBrief_III-2018
