Dr Donna Arnold has been appointed Co-Director of the Centre for Heritage at the University of Kent.
Dr Donna Arnold has recently been appointed the co-director of the Centre for Heritage at the University of Kent reflecting her strong interest in applying X-ray techniques to heritage studies, including an ongoing collaboration studying artifacts from the 16th century warship Mary Rose. The Centre for Heritage is a cross disciplinary centre that contributes to the indentification, preservation and better understanding of heritage to address social, economic, political and environmental issues. Several of the core analytical techniques used by the MEE group are ideally suited to the composition and structure of heritage artifacts, particularly X-ray diffraction and spectroscopy, shedding new light on the origins and preservation of these important items. We hope that this appointment reflects an enhanced engagement of the MEE group on heritage issues.
