This MEMS Lab is a place for dynamic theoretical interdisciplinary discussion, specifically via archaeology, architecture, material studies, and heritage studies. We ask what is the latest in material and heritage studies? where could material and heritage studies go next? How can the study of matter, materials, things and heritage disrupt our understanding of the world, past and present? What are the next big questions about the world which we can answer through analysis of our material surroundings? Our focus is on the premodern, but we will engage with all chronologies to challenge our conceptions.
