Stephanie D’Angelo

Stephanie D’Angelo is a PhD research student at the Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies at the University of Kent. Her thesis, titled Stage Witches and the Mediation of Cultural Content in Early Modern English Drama, is supervised by Dr Rory Loughnane and Dr Ryan Perry and explores the representation of witchcraft in early modern English drama (1580-1625) and understanding how their representation illuminates the ways that early modern English theatres were used to mediate cultural content during historical moments of crisis and social anxiety. Stephanie’s research is closely aligned with the Oxford Marlowe as her thesis involves new research into some of Marlowe’s (and sometimes Shakespeare’s) most popular works including Doctor Faustus, 1 Henry VI and 2 Henry VI.
