Rory Loughnane is Reader in Early Modern Studies at the University of Kent. He is the author or editor of ten books, including Early Shakespeare, 1588-1594 (Cambridge, 2020) and The Death Arts in Renaissance England (Cambridge, 2022). He is a General Editor of The Revels Plays series, an Associate Editor of the New Oxford Shakespeare, and a Series Editor of Routledge’s Studies in Early Modern Authorship and Cambridge’s Shakespeare and Text. He is currently editing The Spanish Tragedy and Q1 Othello for Oxford and The Works of Cyril Tourneur for The Revels Plays. He was awarded the 2019 Hoffman Prize for work in Marlowe studies. Most recently, he has been a Visiting Professor at La Sapienza, Rome (2022), a Plumer Fellow at St. Anne’s College, Oxford (2022), and a Visiting Fellow at St. Catherine’s College, Oxford (2024) .
