Claire M. L. Bourne is Associate Professor of English at The Pennsylvania State University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on Shakespeare, early modern drama, textual editing, and book history. She is author of Typographies of Performance in Early Modern England (OUP 2020); co-author with Jason Scott-Warren of “‘thy unvalu’d book’: John Milton’s Copy of the Shakespeare First Folio” (Milton Quarterly 2022); and editor of Shakespeare / Text (Bloomsbury 2021). She is working on an edition of Henry the Sixth, Part 1 for the Arden Shakespeare, Fourth Series, and a monograph called Accidental Shakespeare, which tells new editorial histories through the materials of bookmaking.
