Zachary Lesser (University of Pennsylvania)
Jeffrey Masten (Northwestern University)
Emma Smith (University of Oxford)
What is the current state of the field in the textual editing of Marlowe, Shakespeare, and others, and where do we go from here? Thinking through historical models of apprenticeship, support, community, and competition, the participants will be invited to think about how we can learn from the past and present practice to support future editorial activity. How can we make editing more inclusive, more diverse, and more equitable? So, too, participants will be asked to think about the value assigned to textual editing in the present and future academic climate.
