Steve Hindle is W.M. Keck Foundation Director of Research at The Huntington Library in San Marino, California, where he oversees the program of fellowships, conferences and lectures. Trained as a soclal and economic historian of early modern England, he is the author of The State and Social Change in Early Modern England (2000) and On the Parish? The Micropolitics of Poor Relief in Rural England, 1550-1750 (2004).
