My research interests concern the politics and ethics of war in fourteenth and fifteenth century France, England and Burgundy. More particularly, I have developed a strong interest in the laws of war, how they formed, evolved and interacted with politics and diplomacy. In recent years, I have explored these themes through the study of treaties of capitulation of fortresses and urban communities.
