Matthew’s current research addresses time, sound and the material culture of exchange across the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. He is currently the holder of an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award for project ‘The Sounds of Time’, and a chief investigator on a major new research project – ‘Religious Mobilities’ – based at the Institute for Religion and Critical Inquiry at Australian Catholic University.
