My work explores the construction of royal power, the political and juridical culture of 12th-13th centuries Portugal – either its internal policies or its relation with other Medieval polities- the world of ecclesiastical elites and the relationship between Portugal and the Papacy until mid-13th century. Critical analysis of the processes of creating documentation and early historiography of Portugal are also part of my research interests.
