Her research interests focus on the political, social, and cultural history of late medieval Europe, with an emphasis on Italian diplomacy, the growth of different political languages in documentary sources, and gender in early Renaissance Italy. Among other projects, she is currently working on a collective volume on peace-making (Reframing Treaties. Peacemaking and the Political Grammar of Agreements in the Pre-Modern World), under contract for OUP. Communication and Conflict.
