After a long hiatus, the Kent Physics Centre lecture series has returned! Our very own Dr Penelope Wozniakiewicz kicked off the first lecture of the academic year on the 3rd of October. Her talk, titled “Cosmic Dust”, provided plenty of detail and insights on the back of her recent media coverage involving the collection of cosmic dust on the rooftops of Canterbury Cathedral.
The lecture drew a substantial audience, with over 70 attendees, and sparked an engaging discussion afterward. It was an honour to have Dr Cyril Isenberg, the former organiser of the Kent Physics Centre lecture series, in attendance as well.
We now look forward to the next public lecture on the 7th of November (at 7pm), which will be given by Dr Rachel Edwards from the University of Warwick, on several non-destructive testing methods employing ultrasound.
