On Thursday March 23, 2022, we welcomed Dr Ryan Boyd as our online guest speaker at the Social Psychology Group Talk.
Dr Boyd discussed his research on how language analyses techniques can be used in the social sciences.

Scholars, clinicians, and social scientists have long used verbal behavior — the words that we write, speak, hear, and share —as a window into the human condition. Ever-growing access to language data and computational power provide us with rich opportunities to explore foundational social processes in innovative ways. In this talk, I will discuss recent studies from my lab that highlight how new language analysis techniques can be used to better understand people, ranging from individuals to societies.
