My research mainly focuses on political questions of the transition to a sustainable society in general, and to sustainable systems more specific (such as in energy and circular economy). Typical questions include: which different viewpoints exist on problems and solutions? How can decisions be taken? Who should be involved? Who wins and who loses? How can transitions be accelerated and how to govern that? How do technology choices and societal needs interact? Which role for the government and which role for other actors?
