Research Advisors Jennifer Pearl and Anne Pridmore recently worked together with IPSOS colleagues to produce a series of videos for IPSOS survey fieldworkers. These videos were designed to give an overview to the fieldworkers who would be interviewing people in their homes about domiciliary care and support.
Jennifer Pearl, who receives domiciliary care and support, spoke with Freddie Gregory from IPSOS about her thoughts on what domiciliary care is and what it means to her, who may receive domiciliary care and why people may need care and support at home.
Anne Pridmore, the owner of ‘Being the Boss’, who employs a team of personal assistants spoke to Sarah Birch from University of Kent about how personal assistants provide domiciliary care and support and what the fieldworkers may need to be mindful of when interviewing people in their homes.
In addition to the videos, Jennifer also spoke to the fieldworkers during a Q+A session, to ensure the IPSOS team were able to ask any questions or thoughts about the logistics of delivering the DomCare survey to others.

The DomCare team – represented by Katerina Gousia and Florin Vadean – attended on 18 June 2026 the workshop on ‘Pushing the Boundaries of Economic Evaluation Methods for Policy’ organised by the NIHR Policy Unit in Economic Methods of Evaluation of Health and Care Interventions (EEPRU) at the Welcome Collection in London. They presented on the DomCare data collection, planned analysis, and expected policy impact, and discussed economic evaluation methods and research priorities with policy analysts from DHSC as well as academic colleagues from NIHR Policy Research Units.
