Vu Hoang Linh received a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary in 1998 and a habilitation from Technical University in Berlin, Germany in 2014. He joined the Faculty of Mathematics, Mechanics, and Informatics, Vietnam National University Hanoi (VNU) in 2000. Currently, he is an associate professor and the rector of VNU University of Science. He is also a vice president and the secretary-general of the Vietnamese Mathematical Society (VMS).
Vu Hoang Linh's research interests are applied mathematics and scientific computing, in particular the qualitative theory and numerical analysis of differential equations and dynamical systems. Recently he has been focusing on stability, robust stability, and numerical methods of differential-algebraic equations and implicit dynamical systems. Currently, he is a member of the editorial boards of Acta Mathematica Vietnamica and the book series Differential-Algebraic Equations Forum.
