Dr Vatthanamixay Chansomphou

Vatthanamixay Chansomphou is a lecturer and researcher of development and environmental economics at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, National University of Laos. Currently he holds a position of Head of Natural Resource Valuation and Environmental Economics Unit, and is an assistant to the Dean of the Faculty.

Research interests

Dr Chansomphou has extensive research and research management experience across a number of fields, ranging from pure academic such as econometric analysis, general equilibrium analysis, and mathematical models for economic and environmental analysis, to policy supporting research including economic development and environment, solid waste management, strategic environmental assessment (SEA), environmental impact assessment (EIA), economic valuation of natural resources, climate change and adaptation, and climate resilient infrastructure.
