The John Burton Lecture Series is the flagship event of the Conflict Analysis Research Centre (CARC) at the University of Kent. The John Burton lecture attracts a wide range of academics and practitioners encouraging dialogue on relevant themes in the study of conflict and a critical link between theory and practice. Previous lectures have covered the risks of democratic backsliding in Africa, the importance of Referendums and the evolution of political violence worldwide.
