About

Alex Ntung is a PhD researcher at the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Kent, UK. He is investigating the interplay between religious elites and modern politics in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and examining their role, influence, and place in deterring inter-ethnic conflict in eastern Congo.  Alex is the author of Not My Worst Day. He has occupied several senior responsibilities in the public and community sector. Internationally, for the last ten years, Alex has been involved in research-based consulting services, including Political Economy Analyses (PEA). His work supports various International agencies and donors (including the UK government Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and USAID. His PEA work serves as a tool to enhance the effectiveness of international development agencies’ policy support to developing countries. He has also been involved in political mediation for civil society organisations in conflict-affected areas (DRC, Israel and Palestine), for which provides insights into issues of war, security, and cultural insensitivity in conflict resolution. Alex came in the UK as a refugee. He was born into a family of cattle herders, semi-nomadic, pastoralist people in South Kivu in the DRC.
