About

Marwa Wasfy is a PhD candidate and Assistant lecturer at the School of Politics and International Relations, University of Kent, Canterbury. She joined the school in 2017 after being awarded a Vice Chancellor’s Research Scholarship to pursue a PhD in International Relations. Her current research focuses on the study of the Transatlantic security community, with a particular focus on the NATO policy towards the South.Her research interests go beyond the Atlantic security studies, to consider issues of gender equality, political Islam and women in armed conflicts. Prior to her PhD study, Ms. Wasfy worked as an Assistant lecturer of Political Science at Cairo University.
