PhD candidate in International Conflict Analysis

About

Mark is a PhD candidate in International Conflict Analysis at the Brussels School of International Studies. His work broadly examines the aesthetic aspects of war from a phenomenological and hermeneutic perspective. In his thesis, he is developing an Interpretivist theory (drawing primarily on Gadamerian hermeneutics) to understand the experiences of soldiers in war. Empirically, this work focusses on the case of British soldiers engaged in the recent conflict in Afghanistan.
