Launched by the Centre for Health and Medical Humanities (CHMH) in January 2024 thanks to an Impact Accelerator Award from the University of Kent, this interactive hybrid Lab introduces the project Ongoing Conversations.
Consisting of four videos, Ongoing Conversations aims to demonstrate the importance of the health and medical humanities outside of academia through conversation. Videos paired professionals working in fields related to health and medicine such as the NHS, comedy, and charity, to join a ‘blind date style’ conversation with an academic from the CHMH. Left in the dark regarding who they were going to be speaking to, their ‘mission’ was to work out why they were paired together and discuss their connection in an online conversation designed to stimulate continued engagement and collaboration after the videos.
In this interactive one-hour lab, the Ongoing Conversations Postgraduate Team, Olivia Andrew and Lindsey Zelvin will introduce the project, its aims and their experiences, before screening one of the four short videos. Following the screening, the Team will be joined by the video’s pair, Dr Patricia Novillo-Corvalán and David Stokes, for a question-and-answer session where they will discuss their experiences of the project and what this has meant for them and their work.
We hope you will join us for this CHMH Lab before the Christmas break, and we look forward to introducing you to the project we have been working hard to produce.
All welcome!
