Summer Sessions of the Indigenous Theory and Methods Reading Group

We’ve planned two online summer sessions looking at Indigenous theory and theories of Indigeneity in relation to India and South Africa.

The first of these, focused on India, will take place on Thursday May 27th at 11am (with apologies to North American colleagues – this one needs to be timed to work for colleagues in India, but we can record the conversation for anyone who would like to follow along).

I am delighted to say that we will be led in this discussion by Debashree Dattaray from Jadavpur University, who has proposed two texts:

Selections from Soumen Sen and Desmond L. Karmawphlang eds Orality and Beyond: a North-East Indian Perspective

Ganesh Devy, Culture and Development, an Experiment with Empowerment

Please contact David Stirrup (dfs@kent.ac.uk) for copies of the reading and to receive the zoom link.
