Jeremy Banks [Banx] was born in London in 1959. He became a freelance cartoonist in 1980, and since 1989 has been pocket cartoonist for the Financial Times. In 2008 the Cartoon Art Trust voted him Pocket Cartoonist of the Year.

Banks’ work has appeared in many publications, including Punch, Private Eye, London Evening Standard, Daily Express, Mail on Sunday, Men Only, Mayfair, Penthouse, and She.

His books include: ‘Cubes’ (1982), ‘The Many Deaths of Norman Spittal’ (1995 – and in 1998-9 transformed into a series of animations by Bob Godfrey Films), ‘Big Fat Sleepy Cat’ (2001) and ‘The Dewsburys’ (2006). From 2002 to 2009 Banks was also a float designer for the Nice Carnaval.

Banks lives in Greenwich.
