Glyn Rees was born in Cardiff in 1946. Whilst at art college, Rees contributed some early cartoons to OUTRAGE magazine. In 1967 he sold a cartoon to the Daily Mirror for the first time, after which he continued to contribute to various publications, including Punch, Titbits, Weekend, the Evening Standard, Mayfair, Men Only and Reader’s Digest. He used a number of signatures during his career, including GLYN REES, rees, and GEE.
In the 1980s Rees moved away from London to West Wales, and over time for one reason and another became a “lapsed cartoonist”. He subsequently went on to work as a graphic designer, as well as illustrating children’s books in both English and Welsh. In 2007 he had a brief resurgence, drawing for Punch magazine.
