Brunel University delivered a seminar on ‘Urban climate led design: a planning tool for liveable places’ at the Urban Infrastructure Hub, at the FutureBuild 2019 in London Excel, on 5th March. The growing and urgent need to demonstrate the impacts of a proposed development on the urban climate was discussed. An inter-disciplinary group of experts explored how outcomes could be improved if the impact of built form on the urban climate were a planning requirement.
Dr Agnese Salvati participated as a speaker to the session highlighting the specific microclimate issues of the street scale and the expected outcomes of the Urban Albedo Calculator as an analysis and design tool for planning. This session was developed with Urban Generation.
