Artificial Intelligence (AI) represents the latest technological revolution transforming human society. People can now interact with agents that mimic human thought and communication, and AI is rapidly expanding into nearly every domain of life. With AI often treated as a quasi-social agent, Social Psychology has both the opportunity and the duty to study what motivates people to interact with it, how they perceive it, and the impact it may have on their lives. With support from the Trust in Moral Machines project, this preconference highlighted the essential role of social psychology in the development, integration, and regulation of AI. Through presentations and roundtables, we aimed to reveal practical insights from our discipline in how to advance ethical, responsible, and trustworthy AI.
