Trust in Moral Machines

Working With Us

We are always interested in connecting with researchers who share our curiosity about moral psychology, ethics, and artificial intelligence. We welcome potential collaborators, visiting scholars, postgraduate researchers, and postdoctoral fellows who would like to work with us at the University of Kent.

Postdoctoral Opportunities

We welcome enquiries from researchers interested in applying for postdoctoral fellowships to work with us. Potential schemes include:

  • ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowships
  • Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships
  • Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA)
  • British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships

If you are considering applying for funding to join us as a postdoctoral researcher, Jim will be happy to hear from you and discuss fit and potential options for applications.

Visiting Scholars

We are open to hosting visiting doctoral students or scholars for short-term research stays (from several weeks to several months). Visits can involve joint research, skills development, or collaborative project design. The University of Kent offers formal frameworks for visiting researchers, and we can advise and provide support with this process.

External Collaborations

We welcome inquiries for collaborations with academic partners, NGOs, public-sector organisations, and industry groups who wish to explore how people understand and trust AI in morally consequential contexts. For more information, see our page on Consulting and Advisory Work.
