Francesco Salvini is a researcher and activist. His research focuses on the transformation and the regulation of healthcare in the contemporary context, addressing the healthcare public provision in southern European cities. Francesco’s most recent research for Rosa Luxemburg Foundation has focused on the healthcare system of Trieste, which experience represents a singular governmentality of care based on the legacy of the critical psychiatric movement of Franco Basaglia. Francesco is based in Barcelona, where he collaborates with Barcelona en Comú and with Radio Nikosia. In Italy he also participates in Conferenza Permanente per la Salute Mentale nel Mondo in Trieste. He regularly publishes an opinion column for L’Internationale Online and collaborates with a number of web-platforms and journals of institutional critique (also publishing as pantxo ramas).
