As part of the MEPS programme, we produce policy briefs to inform decision makers about the outcomes of MEPS research and provide guidance for monitoring and evaluating social forestry programmes. The main target audience for these briefs are government and non-governmental stakeholders in Kalimantan, but the information is broadly relevant for all people interested in the social forestry process in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Our first two policy briefs issued in August 2017 examined the effectiveness of hutan desa<\/em> schemes in avoiding deforestation and alleviating rural poverty in West Kalimantan:<\/p>\n
