This modular approach enables direct access to ethenesulfonyl-fluorinated quinone structures with moderate to good yields. Mechanistic studies provided a deeper understanding of the reaction&#8217;s elementary steps, while biological evaluations identified potent trypanocidal prototypes effective against <em>Trypanosoma cruzi<\/em>, the causative agent of Chagas disease.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThis research, co-authored by <a href=\"https:\/\/research.kent.ac.uk\/kairos\/people\/caue-paula-de-souza\/\">Cau\u00ea Souza<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/research.kent.ac.uk\/kairos\/people\/felipe-fantuzzi\/\">Felipe Fantuzzi<\/a>, exemplifies the interdisciplinary potential of combining synthetic chemistry and medicinal applications.
