On 13 May 2019 Gavin participated in the inaugural workshop of the Global Research Network on Terrorism and Technology, in Whitehall London. The event was organised by the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), the the world’s oldest independent think tank on international defence and security, and supported by the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT).
The event aimed to showcase emerging research in this field. It featured participants from leading academics, think tanks, security and law enforcement agencies from around the world working on problems of countering online extremism. A parallel event of this network will be held in Washington DC on 15 May 2019.
