GEC Working Paper – ‘Democracy in the European Union: Examining Gender (Im)balance in the European Parliament’

This project examines political representation in the European Union (EU) from a gender-balance perspective. A justification for gender-balance representation mechanisms will be drawn in order to set a base for explaining the different methods used in the Member States of the European Union in order to conclude what is the best stream of action to take in the road to achieving gender-balanced representation.

Global Europe Centre Student Forum Working Paper ‘All things to all people?’ – Internal and external approaches to Europeanisation

This Special Edition is an outcome of the Europeanisation workshop ‘All Things to All People? International and External Approaches to Europeanisation’. The workshop was organised by the GEC POLIR Doctoral students and was generously supported by CEELBAS and Kent Graduate School, bringing together a specialist group of established and junior academics working on various aspects of Europeanisation.

Global Europe Centre Student Internationalisation Forum Working Paper March 2018

This Student Internationalisation Working Paper, edited by Hannah Clemett and Nicole Berglund, bundles their essays on these activities.  The paper includes pieces on the educational visits to Belarus and Moldova; timely analyses on cooperation between the UK and Belarus as well as on Moldova’s foreign policy and the Transnistrian conflict; it presents the findings of a research on different media perceptions at Kent and BSU; and shows how people-to-people contacts such as student exchanges can enhance our understanding of one another.
